Looks decent after you have doubled the price tag. I mean, it isn't a "bad" looking bike, but the other 450s definately appeal to me much more. I am interested in seeing how it will perform. If it is anything like they say, it should be a pretty quick bike. Hopefully it isn't the Suzuki all over again.

There is more than just free rims involved. Douglas probably has more money to offer the pros to use their products since hiper is a relatively young company.

lets get real, no one is buyin this quad to ride trails with their buddy, they are buying it to race mx and xc in local races, national races, etc. they are all going to put thousands of dollars worth of parts into the bike anyways, and change it much more than stock, so the quad in stock form, no matter how ugly, or how nice, really doesnt matter. and who cares about looks? if you're winnin all the races then thats all that matters...unless ur a drama queen and care about your bike looking the "hawtest"

the kfx450r is a sick quad, and with all the new technology into it, i have no doubt that it will beat any other 450 out there!!

I personally dont care at all what it looks like. although it does look sooo much better than the stocker.. I'm just glad to see all of the big four up with a race bike now. To see monster energy and pro-circuit jump head first into the quad scene like this and backing factory bikes..... this is a lot more for our sport in the way of opening the public eye. I think these big sponsors will get more people involved in the sport and it is definitely starting to make a turn for the good now.

Its a safety issue that all companies are being introduced to. Sometimes we have to be safe rather than be sorry to look good. I wouldnt mind them. My pro armor heel gaurd saved my life 4 times, lol!

It is leaps and bounds better in the looks department than the stock one, I can say that. Kawaskai is trying , just give it time. They brought two huge corporate sponsors into the atv world w/ Pro Circuit and Monster. And they are also offering a huge contingency payout. They are taking the same approach as suzuki , and are doing nothing but good things for our sport and it's progression. Yeah yeah , everyone says that a modded honda , or yamaha is just as good, and it probably will be. But there is no denying that stock for stock , the Kaw. and Suz. have a lot more going on, better for the budget racer. If anything this sport needs to become a little more affordable. There are probably tons of young talented kids out there , that just can't afford to spend an additional $5,000 on a quad just to make it "race-ready". If nothing more , they are providing us with an awesome platform to build on , without having to replace damn near every part imaginable like you had to with say a Z400 or 400ex. The quality of the OEM stuff is getting better every year, and with the involvement of the factories in the sport, the stock bikes are only going to get better every year.

or the bikes will get minor changes and bold new graphics :rolleyes: I havnt seen mcuh change from the 04 450s, to the 07

Monter didn't jump head first into quad racing, monster energy is sponsoring all kawasaki racing for street bikes to waverunners to quads to mx to etc etc.. every rider that races for factory kawi has to run monster advertisements or graphics on ther bike, kinda like makita suzuki, its now known as monster kawasaki. the two teams joined and im almost positive it was not quads that they were in it for,

I agree, quads are slowly turning into what bikes are today, honda and yami will eventually HAVE to make more race ready bikes, soon enough there will be MX and XC versions that you just revalve the shocks and have a competative racer. IMO the KFX looks sick and with creamer on it i think some big things are going to happen, why are people saying this bike is no good when they've only seen pictures of the thing online!?

To the person that said they didnt see any changes in the 04-07 450R's, just because they dont LOOK differnt doesnt mean they didnt change, in 06 they got the electic start, revised front and rear end, i think too many people depend on looks way to much

ok I understand exactly what your saying about how dumb this sounds and all that to complain about the way it looks, and not focus on how it preforms and that...but if you just take a second and go back to the original post, this thread was started to show that these quads can look cool...it wasn't about how well they perform, or anything to do with team kawasaki. this thread was based completely on looks of the quad, and nothing else...
So if I were you I would take a second and look at what you said, and stop putting other people down because of how they feel about cosmetics on a quad. When they had every right to in the first place, especially since the thread was for them to talk about the looksof the quad.

I actually really like the looks of the stock and aftermarket kfx. Out of all the 450s I think the Honda is by far the ugliest and I have 2 of them.

Umm there isnt even that much done to this thing. the plastic is stock with the the extensions and lights removed. the renthal bars are what come on the stock kfx450's. Its really just a kfx450 with suspension/handling/engine mods. Not much else. It WOULDN'T cost an arm and a leg to make a kfx450 look like that.

I think this atv is gonna do alot better than what people think or want it to.

I cant wait for the new KTM 450 personally. If its as sick as they say it is(like the ltr setup for mx stock) ill be selling my 450r for one really fast.

i think everybody needs to just calm down personally i think the quad looks good and i can't remember who it was at the moment but whoever said they only put 3gs in extras on that bike is absolutely nuts just the suspension parts alone should be pushin that much never mind tires rims and motor mods. and as for the hiper rim situation the aluminums are lighter not a lot but they are still lighter so when your gettin the rims free then save the weight

I beileve thats from the extreme heat of welding titanium. I think i was told that the bluer it is the worse the weld is like the bluer it gets the weaker the weld.

Its not uncommon for a manufacture (Roll) to get a prototype arm out for testing. Ive even seen them raced like that, but trust me, they will be coated when they get the design the way they want it.

rip it down, polish the main up tube(where your boots and legs follow the chassis) the apply some candy red to the rest of teh frame. keep the green fenders, mix in some black, some high polished rims...........

i think this is just like the 450r when it first came out some liked it and some hated it but im sure it will soon grow on alot of people. I think it looks kinda ugly with the fenders but when cut and without lights i like the way the quad looks.
