I can get all the steel i need to build a ramp for like 400 bucks so i dont know if im missing something or not but how do you come up with a figure of like $1000 to build a ramp urself i could see if you had some1 else building it then you would have to pay for there labor. am i missing something here or what

Well once you add the steel and welding supplies you will come up to about 800-1200 bucks, depending on how big to want to go. For an average 6 foot ramp you are looking to spend about 800+

that is a very gneral price. by the time you have someone bed up the rails, have your welding supplies and steel it adds up, and it adds up quickly

i had $1000 into the tubing, sheet and expanded. $400-450 was into tubing, $550-600 into sheet and expanded, i did everything myself including bending the tubing the only thing i didn't do was cut the sheet metal and expanded all to the right size i had bemidji steel do that before i picked it up, added $65 onto the cost of sheet and expanded but saved a lot of time.

the tubing isn't really the expensive part, when i found out it was just over 400 for tubing i was really happy... then i found out what the sheet and expanded cost.... and that price figure isn't even figuring in welding materials because it was a school project and we get wire/gas for free just by the metal
