My 300's stock seat is lame. It has that banana shape that is way uncomfortable on the tail bone. So I was thinking of pulling off the cover, and getting a seat foam blank (from somewhere) and, using spray adhesive, adding enough foam to make it almost all the way level front-to-back. I heard you can shape this foam by using an electric carving knife. Then have my buddy re-cover it, and he's good at it.

Anyone ever attempt a project like this? Does anybody know of a tall seat foam kit and cover for the 300? I have not seen one anywhere.

Yep - Hi-Flyte makes great replacement seat foam and entire seat cushons with custom seat covers, very comfortable.

Ride a 250EX with its seat, then get on your 300 and you will think its a recliner.

Yeah, well I checked out Hi-Flyte and all they offer is the same basic foam shape as stock and lots of different covers. The stock seat shape is really lame. For me, it needs to be more level, and higher. Like a motocross bike, so you can move front to back. God, how stupid for them to make such a poorly designed seat. And those fenders, duh, they cover about half the tires. Form should follow function.

Yeah well, when your back, arms and goggles are covered with ice-cold mud, it doesn't do much to help your riding. Thank goodness for "sport styling". Other than that and the seat, I like my 300 a lot.
