Firewire card Which one to buy?

I need a firewire card and cable to capture digital video from a cannon mini dv recorder. I am looking on ebay but I am confused as to which one I should get:

quite honestly, theyre a dime a dozen nowadays..
my advice would be to just stick with something that has a warranty.. just in case..

you might look up reviews, if your interested in feedback from actual users..

if possible, usb is faster than firewire(480Mbps vs 400Mbps) and its likely already built in to your PC.
