I would like to clean up my handlebars a bit on my 400 so I was wondering, what's the best start button to use from a Dirt Bike, what's all involved in removing the whole black gob. Please post any pics of your start buttons. THANKS

I seen some in my rocky mountain catalog, but they say KX or KM is that a Kawi one then.

So something like this would work then

Just call C@D, they'll send you (I think a CR) kill switch. Very easy and straight forward. I'll try to get a pic for ya.

Sure, i'd like to see the CR kill switch, to me the KM is alittle on the big side. Is it possible to hook up a toggle switch as a flip starter, like they have in Nascar or is that pretty much impossible.

the toggle switch is pretty much the same concept. i dont know how it would mount im almost sure it would work

A hose clamp or a couple of cable ties would work. Only reason I ask is I have a bunch of toggle switches in a tool box. What do you have to do to take the wires out of the black glob on the 400.

No info here but I am interested in what people have to say regarding this subject. I am just piggybacking your thread.

YZ 125 kill switch used as a start button
Pro Armor kill switch

Re-wiring it was surpisingly easy.

Go slow, mark everything, get the Clymer wiring diagram, and just follow common sense.

The two wires from the stock start button go to your new button, the two wires from the kill switch go to your new kill switch. If yer gonna remove your lights, it gets a little more involved, but still doable.

I will say this - the Pro Armor kill switch seems to pull off too easy now. Last thing I want is to be mid air over a double, and have that thing pop out and kill my motor.

I know someone said a CR kill switch will work, but what about a '02 XR100 kill switch? I might be getting this one but obviously won't get it if it won't work...

Anyone know?

Here's a pic...

Is it a two wire plug or one? If it is a one wire plug it won't work.

Im pretty sure its the same thing just make sure its two wires. Also those of you considering the CR killswitch please not that they are not as durable as the other brands killswitches and that you need to put a piece of electrical tape wrapped around the spot on the handlebars where you are putting it otherwise it grounds out through the bars. I used a CR style one for a season of MX and loved it.
