Will the cylinder come off of a 400ex without pulling the motor out of the frame? T.I.A.

yes but it can be tight.

I have done it a couple of times. The hardest part is getting all the plastic out of the way.

just take off ALL your fenders and ****, the gastank (tape over the main feeder hose to the carb tho) and then un-bolt the heat shield under the gastank and pull it out. the head is then right in easy reach!
