I'm heading to Badlands for the first time on Sunday and wondered if anybody could give me a heads up on what to expect. I've heard good and bad stories and thought I'd get some more opinions. Also, it's raining here now, will it be dried out well enough in 2 1/2 days?

Quads: 250x, Prairie
Car: 2000 Mustang
Sleds: 96 mach Z, 00 MXZ 700

The open areas dry pretty quick and some of the wooded trails in teh back can stay wet for a long time. I think you will enjoy it. Lots of different levels of hill climbs and lots of different terrain. You will probably see some crazy people there. Never fails, everytime we go there, we see some crazy person wreck on a steep hillclimb, then again, there are those who are successful.

Hope you have a good time and be safe!

You will have a blast. Just watch out going over the hills you don't know. Some drop off on the other side.

I will be up there next Sat. (5th) for the Cannondale demo days. Can't hardly wait!!!!!!!

it's awsome there, I just flipped my quad there doing a steep hill climb. climb the hills carefully because it can put a dent in your pocket and ruin a day of fun. You probably won't even get to explore the whole park in one day.

I agree with Turbo, when you start getting to the top of the hills, let off the gas a little, he wasn't exaggerating when he said some of them drop off.

Thanks everybody, I had a great time at Badlands today. My little 250 made it up some real decent hills, and I had a blast playing in the sand. Luckily no wrecks out of my group of five. I was riding with a 350x, ATC 250R, 300ex, and a warrior. (I don't know what that kids problem is: RIDE RED.) The only problem was I broke my flag when a wheelie got away from me. But overall it was an awesome day.

A bunch of us went down there this weekend. I recall seeing a group of guys with some of the rides you mentioned.

I was there on this quad...

The sand/gravel area will dry out pretty quick. The woods may take a while longer. Be careful some of them holes in the woods are pretty deep and they are not kidding about some of the hills, they can be more steeper on the back side and they come to a sharp point. No, you do not want to try to jump these hills.

Where is the "lbl" ride? The rubber knobbies didnt last long.

I've launched off a few hill back sides I wish I would not have. Be careful.
