I pay for all my stuff, except some things my parents get me for my birthday and christmas.

I bought my quad, piston, cam, gaskets, first exhaust (white brothers) (dad bought me the sparks) front and back tires, a-arms, bars, filter, sprocket, and some other crap.

01-30-2007, 07:03 PM
stop bickering about all this. honestly, you shoule be lucky to have a quad, and you are lucky enough to have property to ride on. and the money to go to tracks and ride them, and if you are fortunate to have your parents buy you things, thats great for you. i mean, when i was 12 my parents bought me a 250ex and i thought it was the SHIZNIT! but now im 16 and i still have it. they wont let me see it and wont let me get a new one. honestly, just stop saying omg ur spoiled or omg i dont get anything from my parents. its just retarted! theres good and bad in both worlds!

I'm 18 now, but man when I was 15-16 those were some of the best memories of my life so far. But no, I wouldn't want to ever be 15-16 again... I just can't wait until I'm 21, because I'm tired of using a fake ID. :blah:

And btw, if your parents can afford to buy you things, then more power to them... If I was loaded to hell and didn't feel anything from letting loose of 5-6 grand to buy my kid a quad I would do it too. Who cares, that's life, some people just have a lot more money than you, deal with it. I live in Orange County and 90% of the houses in my area are now worth over a million... Some going up to like 10mil within a mile of me. I have soooooooo many rich friends, but their parents don't think twice about buying them not just one brand new car, but two. My best friend just got a brand new lexus for his 18th bday, and already had a 2005 f150 all lifted that he got for his 16th. He gets to keep both, and they are both completely tricked out with rims/tvs/sound systems. He appreciates every bit of it and in my eyes deserves it... He's a good kid, gets good grades and we are both goiing to ASU next year in a brand new house his daddy is buying us. Sweet deal huh?

So what I'm saying is... it all depends on how you raise your kids on how they "appreciate" things. It's easy for people to just say "oh they don't appreciate their things because they get everything handed to them" just because they are jealous...

Yea, my uncle got a truck handen to him at age 16...went and beat the balls off of it, and then he bought a truck with his own money. Sold it a while later looking same as when he bought it.

ill be honest, im jealous of all these kids with 450's that mommy/daddy but them. if my dad was like yo lets go buy a new wheeler id be estatic. id love to have a new bright red 450r without graphics. but im really happy with what i have. when im on my own, ill will have on though. there is a big part of pride when you know you bought your own bike/wheeler.

you got that right! like Polak1035 said, i wash mine alomost every day and keep it top-notch shape, but when i had me older bikes (besides my z) my parents pretty much had to force me to clean it, but now that i paid for my last 2 bikes 100%, i have a 100% respect towards it and i keep it very nice

i rode a 90 for 4 years, up until this past summer, and i was WAY to big for it, and had been saving for a new quad since last year this time. i worked my *** off, and my parents told me they would help me out alittle bit if i made more than half of it. i found my 400ex for 2100 when i had around 1600$ my parents gave me 500 and i got it. i take great care of it and treat it like a baby haha :)

theres nothing wrong with your parents helping you out, but if they go and buy you a brand new 450, or even 400, for 6,000 and more, thats spoiled there there
