tightening the chain on stock 400ex

To tighten the chain i did as the manual told me by loosening the back for bolts on the swingarm then hit where it told me to make it tighter and it made the top tighter but not the bottom of the chain so what do i need to do to have it evenly tightened?

Put it in neutral and spin the axle or ride it a little. It should even out.
