Is there anything needed to do to make it fit or is it a straight bolt on swap? What's the benefit of this? I need a new caliper so I would love to hear any info.

you will need from the 450R:

brake rotor
brake hub
complete brake caliper and mount

I have everything here to do the conversion, caliper complete, new lsr antifade and a wave rotor if anyone is interested.

Still wondering exactly what the plus side of this conversion is. Can someone let us in on why it is worth the time?

I upgraded the rear brake on my 400ex a few months back. Worth every penny. I put the 450r master cylinder on as well. (different piston dia.) I now have a rear brake that I can modulate. No instant lock-up anymore! I also put 450r front brakes on, it was like a new bike. Would definately do again.

Better stopping and the 450r rear brake pad does not wear out as quick as the 400ex
