I have been told by some that a great way to improve my 99' 400ex suspension would be to replace my stock 400 shocks with new 450r shocks. i have also been told that 450r shocks would not be worth the trouble and i would be better served by saving some more money and going with a set of works or elkas. There are a great deal of whoops where i ride and i want to make my ride more comfortable. any thoughts?

dude, there are tons and tons of posts here on this topic, just do a search.

I just put some on my 99 400ex and couldn't be happier. Just get them re valved for your weight and rideing style. If you want you can get them re sprung to. Again, do a search and you'll get all the info you need.

Thanks for your input. I am a newbie when it comes to all this. I have only been riding for about 3 months but I've become completely addicted to this expensive hobby.
