What would be considered the acceptable average horse power of a good running 330 - 350 cc Niks cylindered big bore engine? I'm not talking something that is maxed out for drag racing, just the typical duner and trail engine.

Anywhere from 55-65 is a good prox motor. I've talked to a few people on other forums who have got like 75 hp out of a 370cc, but thats a drag motor.

Is that lrd aluminuim chasis? Lrd has a recall on the frames due to the footpeg monts cracking and breaking off. Just figured you might want to know.

yeah i would say high 50s, low 60 for a strong running 330 or 350...number vary from carb, and pipe set up...plus compression and what gas they are running, etc...

Hey Jon,
How does your motor run? I have a ct 350pv and am not real impressed by the power. It is the fastest thing I have rode but doesn't feel like 50 hp. I had to drop my main to a 180 just to get it to clear out well. I think maybe my 38mm carb is holding me back. But it could and most likely is the conservative ct porting. I plan on having neil report it and increase my exhaust port height a little. I also wand to try a 40.5 mm esr carb.

Sorry to slightly change the topic but I was wondering how your pv motor runs

talk to allen at CT he will take care of you. The 38mm carb might be holding it back a little but i would reccomend that Neil ports your cylinder. I am also about to buy a CT 350PV. Jon how do you like your esr pv?

I had my ESR 310 powervalve on a Factory Pro EC997 dyno and it posted 42 horsepower. The cylinder is ported for low end power and it uses an ESR TRX6 pipe, V-Force reeds, 38mm Keihn carb, Hinson basket, DP clutch kit, stock ignition, Twin Air filter, and I use an airbox lid. Also, I use VP C12 and Klotz R50.

My non power valve CT 350 made 54 to the wheels on CT's dynojet. stupid power curve though, there was like a 25 hp jump in power over about a 500-1000 rpm change. "Getting on the Pipe"

The power valve made about the same hp but in a much more smooth delivery. On the graph, there is an actual curve to the hp instead of having a flat line with a straight up wall at the end of the rpm range.
