I got my quad registered the other day so I can run out on the lakes for the winter without worying about getting the 250$ ticket. But the only thing it I dont want them ugly brown stickers on my quad. lol

Where do you guys put them to help blend them in? I was told they HAVE to be in plain sight.

I was thinking about puting them on another set of # plates, and zip tie the # plates to my front and rear bumpers. that I way I can take the ugly things off when Im riding at the tracks.

what do ya think?

Just get some clear tape and stick them to that. When you are done riding take them off and re stick them later.

On my Raptor, I put them on the plastics just below the tail light. It works well and is easily visible from the outside. Maybe your quad has a similar place to put them.

I put mine on my front fenders, I just bite the bullet and put them in plain sight. Not dealing with harrassment from DNR is reason enough for me to put them on my quad.

In NY we are issued motorcycle liscense plates... then we get tiny little registration stickers about 1"by2" that goes on the upper corner of the plate. Then just find a place to mount the plate:cool: My buddy kept his in his airbox all last year, he got stopped once, just yanked it out and the cop didn't say anything...a couple weeks later, he pops off his seat and the plate is gone! haha, just told the cops his plate numbers and he was all good. What do you guys pay to register yours in other states? Just the tax on the price you paid for it?

$30 for two years

Red sticker= 8 months riding season

Green sticker= 12 month riding season

Red sticker bikes can't ride Jun, Jul, Aug, Sept in most areas. 2 strokes 2003 and newer get a red sticker and some newer 4 strokes get red stickers because they pollute too much for CA standards

I take it that is after your initial payment of infinity? The tax you pay at the dealer if you buy new is usually your registration.

Buying used, when I go to register it I am supposed to pay like 8% of whatever I payed for the quad.... If they think its too low they charge 8% of book value.

My 400ex I bought for $300 you know ahahhahah

If you buy it from a dealer, pay the tax, they send in for the title & the tag office sends you the registration - the initial one is only good for a max of one year, when it expires the renewal is good for two years.

So what do you guys have to do when you buy a used quad? I understand the tax money is your registration money basically from a dealer, but here in Ny if you buy a used one you need to go to pay tax on the price you pay used too, just wondering if thats how it works everywhere else?

same thing here - buy it and take the title or bill of sale down, pay tax on full purchase price (sure!) and you get the registration sticker
