It's a British show, and they hate Americans so, accept some bashing. But my favorite thing he says is.. "Most people who take a walk in the American country side are eaten by a bear" lol

I love that guy, most of the stuff he says is true though. Unsafe, handling of a barrel down a hill, made like crap.

My friend sold his a little wile a go for a audi s4 and that thing is truly awesome. Dont get me wrong i love lightings but their are too many downsides to owning one

You ever notice how when any Lightning is pulling out of its parking spot you hear a very loud "clank" when the driver has turned the wheels all the way. This is an example of the workmanship the car holds.

Lets see:

Lightning -

Poor Handling
Poor Workmanship
Unsafe
Only room for 2 friends

S4 -

Extremely Safe
4 wheel drive which provides awesome handling
German worksmanship, awesome interior etc.
Higher Resale value

So your only around 18 and getting a lightning?:o

Remember you insurance is going to skyrocket!

My buddie has one. He uses it to pull his Street/Drag car to the race track. Other then that he installed a new supercharger and exhaulst. Very fast vehicle. No major problems and he has had it for years.

I test drove one new in 2001 (it was an '02 model) and it was extremely fast, but the supercharger had such a loud whine to it, it sounded cool, but would probably get annoying. It'd be a fun truck, but not too practical.

if you get an older lightning you can get past the insurance of it. they are classified as just an f-150 or at least thats what my buddies '94 is insured as. i like the older ones better than the newer models.

I owan a 1993 lighting and the insurance is no big deal it is insured as a regular 150. It will be the best thing that u buy and u will love it every time u get in it. When i got mine at 16 years old and yes i paid for it in full at 16 years old everyone said "watch out for that insurance" but like i said it is only insured as a 150. If u are serious about getting the truck go to www.nloc.net (national lighting owners club) and join. I LOVE my lighting, and cant wait for all u jelious guys to start saying "there is no way u paid for that truck yourself", I went through it in high school when i was woopin other guys buts on the street.

my good buddy has one and i feel the handling is very much up to par with any other truck out there i love the stance and the way you feel in the seats, you have to remember this is no car. has awesome power to it, his at least has remained very dependable just keep the maintance up on it, also when you increase the pully size and im sure you will... make sure you get a different tune. Many people wreck there motors because of bad a/f ratio's. tranny's are fairly good but past 500rwh then tend to crap out on you. one of the best mods you can do is get a shift kit. they do haul some serious butt though and tend to get sideways if you let them. I've seen my buddy kill a ws6 trans am they have some potential.

I am tellin you if you are serious about getting a Lightning than the only site that has the most info on our trucks is www.nloc.net everyone on ther is soooooooo informative and is willing to help. I have been a paying member for almost 4 years now and the guys on there have never let me down.

Just my 2 cents but than again what do i know i have only been playin with these trucks for 4 years now.

P.S. the only people that know what these trucks are all about are the ones that are driving or racing them.

Back in '97 I worked for a chevy dealership and we had at least one request a week for those bad boys. If you find one, hold on to it, they are not common! As for the Lightning, it is a great truck built by a great company:macho I'd take one anyday if I didn't already have a couple of tickets:devil:

they made 3000 sylcones in 91, and made 3 in 92, all of them are black. i've seen 2 in person since i was 16 (23 now) and started keepin an eye out for them. i would kill to have one of them
