Does anyone know how much hp the stock crf450 will put out? I read that they put out 55hp, but that seems really high to me? but I dont know.

40hp with a stock knobbie tire. I would say 45-48hp with a slick

thats odd, i was under the impresion that the dirtbikes were making a considerable amount more power than the quads

I have a CRF with the full Baldwin treatment and when I called and asked Mark he told me somewhere in the 52-55 range. Thats with porting, cam , valvejob, 14:1 piston, and full baldwin exhaust.

So if I were to get some port work done and drop in a stage 2 hot cam I would get around 50-52hp???

stock a 05 CRF450R will push 50 horses easy. i was checking the MDK racing website, they have dyno tests for a CRF with their speed porting and it put out 58-60, so i dont know where you guys are coming up with these numbers from. BTW: 50 horses stock was a dyno test from dirtrider magazine.

I think what he was asking about is what the rwhp of the crf engine installed in a quad would be. The quad will lose around 8hp compared to a bike on the dyno due to the extra drag. I would exptect 42 hp from a stock crf hybred quad.
