need electrical help fast!!!!!

i have an 05 yfz and i just got finished rebuilding my quad after having it torn down for about a month, and now the engine wont even turn over without the clutch engaged,
also even though the quads in neutral, the light won't come on until i engage the clutch and press the starter
this is driving me crazy so any help would be greatly appreciated

Check your grounds, was the frame powder coated or painted?
