Do you need to buy a power commander for the fuel injection like if you get a full pipe and filter or can you get by without one pros and cons of them

I'd say yes because they change the fuel mapping for upgrades, plus why not get the extra power for the $30. thats for the cherrybomb that is. they do make more adjustable ones for a couple hundred, trinity makes one.

All current ATV FI systems are open loop systems. They'll adjust themselves automatically for elevation, ambient temperature, and engine temperature. If you install intake and/or exhaust the engine will have NO IDEA and will continue to meter fuel as if the stock components where in place. Basically, the current FI systems adjust for the riding environment but can't make the adjustments necessary for engine mods.

So yes, you do need some way to adjust the FI system if you change the flow in or out of the engine. The Yoshimura CRBM (aka Cherrybomb) is a great, effective, inexpensive answer for the LT-R but there are lots of choices for it and other quads. I like the Dynojet Power Commander unit for the Rap700 because there's a lot of fuel mapping support available for download from Dynojet.

You would probably be running extremely lean without a fuel controller.
