Thanks for the compliment. I put a ton of money and time into it. The Advance Timing Key is alright to use on engines with intake and exhaust mods. Once you add a stage 2 or 3 cam and/or up the bore size than it's not recommended.

yeah what im planning on doing since im not going to sell my quad for a while just slowly as the money comes put some money into it first an air filter then the slip on exhaust with rejet but at the saem time all the small cosmetic things. Im trying to find a nice yellow graphic kit because i like mine but it looks way better with the seat that i dont have

That's what I've been doing for the past 9 months. I've finally got mine where I want it. A full set of skids and I think I'm done.

I didn't mean to cause all the K&N loyalist to rise up and try to squash me. I have had both K&N and UNI and hands down the UNI is way easier to clean. In fact, I bet I could clean 2 or 3 UNI filters in the time that you could clean one K&N filter.
Ultimately it's up to you but, a UNI works just as well as a K&N at a fraction of the price and you save tons and tons of time when it comes to cleaning.

Here's a link to a thread with various pictures of my 400EX. Let me know if you want to see something else on the quad you can't see in the photos.

I'm a trail rider. Not a racer. Lots of people get a 400EX and than eventually wish that got a 450R. That's not me. I'm happy with my quad and plan to keep it. That's why I put a lot of money into it. My 400EX rides and looks great why would I want a 450R?

i feel the same as you, the 450r is a great quad, but almost to much for trails etc.. its a racer, not a trail quad. but a 400ex can be made into a racer, am i right or am i wrong?

BTW i would get skidplates too
