Front Hub

I was taking off the front wheel on my 300 and cross-threaded two studs. I called my dealer and he said that they don't make studs for the hub. Now I have to buy a new hub unless you can help me out.

Did you destoy the splines or just the stud threads? If it was the splines you can tack weld the stud to the hub. If it is the actual threads you can pick up a new 2002 400ex hub with studs for around $40 from servicehonda I believe.

service honda carries 250r studs,,they work,,promise and there cheap..:D

So should I just buy 250r studs to go with my hub and have a machine shop press them in?

YOu should be able to knock the old studs out and knock the new ones in...at least I did with no problem,,just make sure to have a nut on the end of the studs so ya don't jack up the threads..

Thats Whats would do. I would use a hammer to knock them out hammer them back on.

Thanks now I just gotta go get some studs. A lot better than spending 140 for a new front hub.
