Im lookin to upgrade my blaster. How fast would it go,on average, with the following:

Toomey Racing B1 Kit
18" Holeshots(Rear)
lengthening and widening
V-Force Reed Cage
-1 tooth front sprocket
Vito's Super Stock standard bore piston

i am not sure how fast it would go but i geusstimate it around 65-70 with a 14 tooth fromt sprockey.the blaster is undergeared stock so there would be no reason to gear it lower.with a 12 tooth front sprocket it would go about 55-60. also you would have to rejet.

What about a custom made 16 on the front & a 38 on the axle with 18" racers, :D

with the upgrades you listed it will make your blaster quicker off the line and in low end instead of Top end so i would guess around 50-55

does anyone know where i can get a 15 tooth front sprocket?

PBI Sprockets
Part # 347-15 C/S

Neil,

Here is your numbers. 8500 rpm 16/38 gearing 18" tires

1. 19.2 mph

2. 26.8 mph

3. 35.6 mph

4. 47.5 mph

5. 56.2 mph

6. 65.6 mph

Everyone needs to keep in mind that this is according to gear ratios and RPM. It has nothing to do with HP or torque.

The more HP and Torque you have the faster the quad will get to these numbers. Hope this helps.

how many links in the chain will i need if i am running 14/38 gearing? 15/38?

Kendall33
02-05-2007, 04:10 PM
The amount of links in your chain isn't usually an exact number...It depends on how new/old the chain is(they stretch) and how long your swing arm is...Sooo you'd pretty much have to put it around there and count them yourself

Stock blaster chain is 92 links. I would guess you would need 3 more links, but that is a guess. Like Kendall said, you will have to measure it on the quad. :ermm:

alrighty then. thanks for the help

I always try to keep a new 120 link chain or two in the trailer just in case & a side grinder to shorten it with, can never tell when yourself or someone else might need a chain. Kindness goes a long way with people at the races.

Sorry!
Maybe not for those that dont have the engine to pull it, but the engines I build, when it leaves me, the ignition cover has been modded & a 16 tooth sprocket is in place on the engine.

why do you put so much money in a blaster when you can get a 250r that is just as fast but cheaper....

Well...mostly for the competitive racers we need a quad to run in the Nationals(or we could ride a 90-mod or a 300ex)we chose Blasters and just like myself people ride them and then once they turn 16 move up to a bigger bike(YFZ,450R,LT450R etc.) It's more-so a really awesome starting place in the nationals for a kid 13-15yrs. old:) ....wanna race? I still have my Blaster:blah:

blasterfreak99
02-07-2007, 07:36 PM
becuase we can:cool: j/k. because some people want to race in the blaster class and don't want to go to a full size quad or they have a kid who can't race a full size quad because they are not old enough or because they just like the feel of the smaller quads.

i think its becasue you can get such a choice in mods and theres soo much that you can pick them up as steals, and you can do thing to keep with the 450s,

you can make a blaster go 70, easy, we have a 86 yamaha moto-4, and we just put IPT mud lites on the rear and there a 25-12-9 and i took the hubs off my blaster anf put them on my moto and i put the motos hubs on the blaster and i took it down the road and i couldnt even hit 6th gear, when i was 3 it was as fast as 4th in stock gearing when i had 20's on the rear i'll try to post some pics of what they look like!
