Hey everyone i have a quick question.
I was wondering if I should buy a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak with 850 miles on it or just go buy a new one. 2006 or 2007?
Mainly I just just seeing if there were any problems/concerns with the 03 vs. 06/07. I'm a sport utility guy and don't pay that much attention the utilities. I'm stuck on a Kodiak and was just wondering some Pro/Cons of the year models. Technical and Mechanical problems, or added convenience features on the newer models. Any comments or advice would begreatly appreciated! The 03 I can get for about 4200 while new ones off the showroom floor are about 5300 around here.
Again thanks for any help!

Depends on how much you want to spend really, I had a 01 Kodiak 400 and loved it. I sold it this fall because I had to get rid of some toys and no one wanted my wolverine. I think the new ones now come with Independent rear suspension and also can get it in 450 motor, but they are probably the same otherwise. I had a straight axle and for hauling and the riding I did I liked it better. I had enough power for what I was doing and even ran a few races with it in Ute stock before I got the Wolverine. The only thing I noticed in your post which I ? is the mileage. Mine had a trip odometer only that could be reset by turning the knob. You could show whatever mileage you want. I know on my buddys Polaris there is an hour meter and odometer that can not be reset. Maybe Yamaha changed this from the 01. There is alway the part of owning a brand new bike to consider, but unless you plan on keeping it for a long time, you lose a lot of money as soon as it leaves the show room. I think that as long as you look over the used bike and it is in good shape you would be happy either way.
