Should I just use honda gear oil? I've heard people running ATF type F in their bikes and changing it often...?

you can use almost anything.

i use chevron delo 15/40 or strait 40.

type F trany juice is fine to.

i have had 3 250 R's the one i have now i have had 8 years.

it seems to me that if it is oil it will work.

Mobil 1 75W90. Its basically 10W40 oil with an additive package for the clutches in a Limited slip rear end. Very similiar application to our crank case (gears and clutches)

I ran Golden Spectro 80w in mine with the full Hinson clutch and never had a problem.

For what its worth, I've got one 88 that got raced every Saturday night for the first 7 or 8 years of its life and then became a trail rider and I still have it today, its only had Castrol 10w-40 or 20w-50(which ever I had) in it and it still has the original clutches in it.

I've used any types of ATF in my Banshee for the last year and a half with no problems at all. I can't remember what's in my R as it don't get used much any more, or even changed for that matter.
