Are there any guys racing mx on a mostly stock z400?
It's easy to get sold by the "it's not worth racing uless you spend $3-4 grand in suspension etc versus 450's.
I'd like to hear and see bikes that are mostly stock, and how there doing. Of course, cosmetic changes are plenty cool, I'm talking about stock main parts.

I'm gonna XC a mostly stock 06 Z400. I sent my stock shocks to GT Thunder and for less than $800 they are making them into an aftermarket suspension. Seemed like a much better way to go than spending $1500+ for aftermaket stuff.

friend of mine races a z400 with pipe/filter, he does well in the tight stuff but gets left on the big jumps and open stuff.

you can have fun on it but unless you have some crazy skills
I dont see you taking the podium.

i race mx and just moved up to the z400...it just has a pipe and is jetted and does pretty well....i've only had it on the track twice but it handles great and can keep up with the other machines(however i didn't because i was still getting used to it..and the power totally shocked me)

i raced last season on a stock kfx with different tires, district 7. i only got to race about 4-5 races but i did really good. three 4th places, 3rd, and one 8th or something. more power to you guys when we can hang with the big boys on there 450s and beat them!!!!!
