how long do engine rebuilds last

i was wondering how long like a 425-426ex would last before it would need to be rebuilt again typically,....also do they over heat alot or is there any problems that occur with them alot?

around 3 years, depends on how its built and how hard its ridden.

depends on compression, bore, and how strong you built it (hd rod, studs, etc)

if i were u i would go low compression. With high compression you need to use 110 gas heavy duty studs heavy duty cam chain and all this other stuff. Its just more of a pain.
