OK.....I wanna get rid of that pesty e-brake, but I need to know what kind of clutch perch and lever combo are good for the 400ex. I have looked at the ASV's but they are very expensive. Any help is appriciated.

I just asked the same question a few days ago. Attached is the link.
Clutch Perch Link (http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=277959)

I ended up going with the MSR one you see in the link above. I ordered it through ebay for 23.00. I haven't received it yet so I don't know how well it works. let me know what you decide

I bought an MSR CR 125 Clutch handle and perch at my local shop for $18.00. It works fine.

I just installed the parking brake block off & replaced my clutch lever with the MSR AOF clutch perch and lever. So far it seems descent, but then again I've only been up and down the neighborhood streets a couple of times. It's way too cold to ride right now. I am happy with my purchase though. I didn't want to get the ASV lever because it is just too pricey for me right now. I will wait & see how the MSR AOF clutch perch and lever does.

I would like to recant my previous statement. I didn't end up liking the MSR AOF clutch perch and lever. It was really stiff & made the "pull" alot harder. After riding with it for a little bit, it got really annoying. I tried adjusting it many times, but couldn't get it where I liked it. If I were to loosen the slack in the cable, where it was easier to pull, I would have to pull far back for the clutch to catch. I like my release point so that you just barely have to pull the lever in. When I tightened it up to be at that point, it would be too stiff.

I just bought the RTC clutch perch and lever tonight. It is a night and day difference. The pull is alot easier.

If anyone wants to buy an almost new MSR AOF clutch lever let me know!

I just bought it (RTC clutch lever) for $60 at a local atv shop here. I saw a couple of used ones on ebay, but I decided to go new. You can get it for 54.95 on ebay, for new that is. It is from the RTC owner it looks like. I just didn't want to wait for it to be shipped to me. I am impatient & so I spent a couple extra bucks to get it today.

I just installed this one a month ago. Its a smaller type and I am not exactly thrilled with it, but it works fine for the price.

You know you could just take the cable off and leave the stock perch if you dont want to spend the money.

dnatt sounds like you need to readjust it. If it is engaging when you barely pull the clutch in/out, then chances are you have it adjusted too tight. Remember there should be slack between the lever and the perch, I usually leave enough to stick a nickel in between. This is to make sure your clutch isn't slipping with your lever full out.

Good to know about having enough room to put a nickel in between. I didn't have it too tight though. I was just exaggerating to get my point accross, that I couldn't get the MSR clutch to feel right.
