I am about to send you a frame and sub frame, maybe a couple other small parts. I have a couple questions. Its from an 05 YFZ, Can you remove the steering stem bearing and install a new one for me? Not sure how to get it out or put a new one in. Also, do you tap all the thread holes out or will I need to do that? One more question for now, What time of day would be better to drop it off personally to you, I only work about 1.5 hours from you. I get off work at 7 am, so I could drop it off around 9-10 am if your up that early. If not let me know a good time.

Yes i can do the bearing if needed

I plug all the holes, most folks have no problems once they start reassembly

any day is good as long as i know your coming, there is always someone here

THanks, I got it dis assembled today, I just need to get it cleaned up and decide what other parts I may want pc'd. I am planning on doing a red frame , but I want to make sure its not close to the stock yfz red.

One more question, What does molycoating bolts do? Also how much for the swing arm bolt and control arm bolts, if its beneficial.

Pappy
01-24-2007, 06:23 PM
Moly is a lubricating molydendumsulfide coating that prevents rust and corrosion etc. I highly recommend doing the pivot bolt. pivot bolt is $20, arm bolts on a yfz are about $3 each for the long ons, $1 each for the small ones. Yamaha's factory bolt coatings arent so bad.

Ok, Tommorrow is the only day off this week, going to hit the slots on the way home from there. Should I just leave my frame and other parts on your porch. I am dropping off a frame , sub frame and a bag of bolts to be molycoated. Do you do the nuts too or just the bolts?

Pappy
01-29-2007, 05:58 PM
The wife will be here and she will show you where to drop everything

I dropped the frame off this morning. Got a little lost since you didnt tell mapquest you changed the street signs at the end of your road :blah: . Anyway, met your wife and she was really nice. Got to see codys track, maybe he will let me come play on day.

Now heres the list of what needs done.
First off, I left the steering stem bearing and seals in there. Can you get them and replace them once the PC is done.
I want the Frame and subframe powder coated the a bright yellow , similar to what is in the link above. The bag of bolts taped to the frame are my swing arm bolt and linkage bolts. I think I put 4 bolts in there total. I would like to get those moly coated. Let me know when you close to being finished so I can get the wife to take a day off work and we will come pick it up and hit the Slot casino again. Had fun today, lost enough money to probley pay you. Oh well I guess I will have to get my money the old fashioned way and go to to work tommorrow.

It's going to look great! When will you have it back together? I'd like to go to your friends track before the VXCS starts, I haven't had much time to ride lately. PM me when you get a chance, didn't mean to jack your thread.

XCAdam89
02-25-2007, 06:55 PM
It's at Outdoorsman Park in Martinsville, VA. It's both a VXCS (Quad Series) and VCCS (Bike Series) event, so there should be a decent turn-out.

2007 Schedule:

3/18 Outdoorsman Park Martinsville, Va

4/22 Lake Sugar Tree MX Axton, Va.

5/13 Haynes Farm Sutherlin, Va.

6/03 NCMP Henderson, NC

6/24 Outdoorsman Park Martinsville, Va.

As far as the 18th race is concerned, I'm not 100% sure I'll be there, my Dad has to be in Syracuse for business on the 19th, so the 18th may be a little tight considering it's 4+ Hrs. away, but I'll try my hardest.

The bike is ready to go now with the exception of some nerf's, I've really been trying to find a used set of AC's, but I'm not having much luck.

I got my package today, :D I thought I had lost that bolt, couldnt remember if I sent it to you or not. I tore my whole garage apart looking for it. I figured I had lost it so I called the dealer to order a new one, Can you believe that FMS charged me $9 for that bolt, oh well I guess I will have a spare if it ever comes in.
