Mainly Sugerpine, but I do plan on going to Carnagie, Prairy City, StonyFord, and Sand Mountain every so often. I'm also open to other places as well.

I do want to visit the Oregan Dunes and even Glamis.

Well I haven't been that far up north I usually ride Hollister Hills which is 45 min south of San jose. I think Sacramento is like 2.5 hours away from Hollister.

Nice, Looks like a lot of mixed terrain. I think I've driven by there before. My Uncle lives in Morgan Hill.

I'm sure you've been to Carnegie over in Livermore, right? I'm not very confident on steep hill climbs; actually it scares the crap out me. This quad has a lot of torque (for a two stroke) and wants to pull the front end up all the time. I'm afraid of looping it. But I guess I need to conquer my fears and get some practice in. My Little Bro loves to hill climb, in-fact he's planning on competing on his CR500R this spring. To him it's just a rush. Me being 34, going on 35 next month, I'm a little more cautious. I'm finding out the hard way it's taking a little longer for me to heal.

If I plan on making a trip down there, I'll let you know.

Cheers

where is sugarpine? what type of terrain is it?

Sugerpine is a OHV park located near Foresthill. It all forest trails and fireroads. The terrain is mostly dirt with some rocky areas. In the winter months it's usually covered in snow and they have it open to snowmobiles, but I hear they plan on closing it to MC & ATV's during the wet season (Dec-Apr). Many of the trails are wide (6-ft) so there are no problems for atvs. I would say that the park's trails are 70% open to atvs, with over 65 miles of trails. I hear they also just recently paved the staging/parking area. Camping is also available.

Here are some links about Sugerpine

You can also check the USDA Website.

if your lookin for some track riding u should hit up marysville.

i ride carnagie all the time. i was there this past thursday and it was a dust bowl but thankfully its raining today. if u ever need a guide i can take u all through the park. i know that place like the back of my hand. just be careful on the two way trails

hollister is pretty sweet. mainly one way trails so u can haul *** with out worrying about running into someone. plus there quad track is some what decent. i like hollisters trails the best, there just fun.

I know. :( They've spent over a month working on the dirtbike track so far but nothing to the quad track except f*cking it up. Go to this thread and scroll four posts down to see some pics of the atv track as of now:

Egan,

I'll have to take you up on that offer for Carnagie sometime this season. It would be nice to go with someone who knows the terrain.

Last time I stayed mostly down on the flatland. As the time before that I had the misfortune to find ourselves on a trail that started out wide enough for atvs and suddenly changed to a single track goat trail while going down the back side of a very steep hill. Not knowing the trails can be treacherous.

It has been a while since I've ridden at Carnagie (I think almost 7 years ago). Last time I went it was fun up to the point where my brother decided to case the main double on the MX track, and land on his head. I then had to drop everything to follow him to the Tracy ER. Needless to say my last visit was cut short. As for my brother....I think it was lucky he did land on his head. I think he did more damage to the ground then it did to him.

I'll let you guys know if I am planning on making a trip down that way, and maybe we can set up a ride together. Vise versa if you come up this ways.

Cheers

EddyL.
