I have a couple of questions on gusset kits.
1. How neccesary are they for motocross
2. Who makes on of the better kits
3. How hard are they to put in your self

In my opinion:

1)Depends on how hard you ride, I race A class, and have broken my frame twice thus far, and then had it gusseted and have no problems since.

2) I had JB Racing gusset mine, but one of the site sponsors Pappy does great PC work and gusseting, along with Bare Performance who has a kit.

3)If you are a pretty good welder, they do have instructions to install these kits yourself.

i got mind from bar performance.i think they had more gussets in there kit.if u no how to weild there not very hard to install.i would perform a tear down to the frame to do it right.they say u can do it while it's altogether, but to get to some of the inside weilds you really need to take it apart.

when I did my frame I just looked at other 400ex frames and where they had been done. Then took some 1/8th inch plate and cut out some pieces. I event went a little further to make cool designs in them.

after looking at this pic. Yuck, I need to get my frame re- powder coated.

Bare makes the most economical kits on the market at $75 shipped. They are laser cut, fit well and cover all areas needed for the most part and then some.

I think you could use a guesset kit chase before you any problems.
