I was lucky enough to get one off a new Z400 Suzuki, had to mod it a little just to open a 42mm carb, but its amazing how smooth it works. The thum piece is just a bit longer than a R thum & that helps as well. My daughter likes it.

The 400ex throttle works extremely well. They can be found just about anywhere, are cheaper and work much better. The pull is considerably lighter than the stock R throttle with the cam mechanism. It does need to be modified slightly to allow full throttle. Motion Pro makes a cable for this application.

what about those billet peices from moose and terry cable. I haven't heard anything other then they get dirt and stuff in them.

When I tried a 400EX thumb throttle on my R with a 39 PWK or 38 PWK, I could not get the thing to open the carb slide all the way. I ground all the internals down and tried 3 different cables and every adjustment possible. It still would not open the slide all the way. It wasn't much, but it was noticable.

I vote stock 250R thumb throttle. Might try the TRX90 thumb lever mod on it. You can also get different slide return springs that lessen the pull or mod the one you have. I also remove the small return spring in the thumb throttle housing to lessen pull.

I picked up a Terry cable from someone on here. I can only comment on the quality, as it seems like a nice throttle. I have yet to use it, since the bike is down.

I had a 400ex throttle, it didn't open a 38 a/s all the way, if I adjusted it so it did, it idled way too high. I replaced it with a stock 250r throttle. I have twists on my bikes now, on my atc250r, I have a dual gasser(twist and thumb), its nice, but big and the thumb seams kinda hard to reach. Maybe its just that I cut out the spacer(so to speak), on the stock throttle and I'm used to putting my thumb around the middle of the lever.
