some questions about 04 yfz450

im looking at a 04 450 witha 06 crank, i htink that makes it a 449cc instead of a 439cc. the dealership wants $3,995 but i will see if they will take 4,000 out the door. what are some areas that i should look at to see if it really is worth the 4,000.

i would want to know WHY and WHO did the crank?

check the weep hole under the water pump see if it leaks?

check the swingarm make sure its not cracked or a piece broken off....

take it for a ride see how it sounds and feels.....

turn on your headlights and ride it pretty hard....i did this and found out the regulator was blowing the headlights and taillight....

ask them to show you the voltage on the stator there know to be bad in the 04's.....

does it have a clean title?????

there just a little things you can check or ask about ...
but besides that they run great and RIPPPPP!!!!!

usally if the stator is bad...when riding it will ride ruff...like hessate,pop,backfire...
trust me youll know!!

The 06 crank replacement is quite popular on the eariler ones to get it to a full 450ccs well 449 anyways.
