What benefits you more for XC type racing? Lifting more weight for 10 reps for 3 sets or less weight for 20 reps for 3 sets?

Any help or suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

Well, XC really tests your endurace...so i would say do anything that can help with endurance...which is low weight, high reps...
But, if you wanna work out for XC, then go ride some trails really fast....pretend your racing Balance and all them fellas!:p

endurance exercises....a mountain bike ride on the trail, running for an hour, swimming laps etc. you get the point, but some weight training for mass will not hurt either

10x3, 10-8-6, 5x5. You cant stay on the same work out for too long.

muscle mass = heavy weight, less reps

Endurance and toning = light weight, a lot of reps

No more than 20 - 30 seconds b/w sets; keep it moveing It'll get your heart rate up light to moderate weight and 12-15 reps....Dont spend time b'sing put on an i-pod ,block everyone out and keep moving..anyone who spends more than 45 minutes working out ISN'T doing it right!!!! ;)
