All you Virginia riders need to go HERE (http://buddscreek.com/) and look on the right hand side under latest news and contact your representative about bill #3073....Long story short....It will restrict anyone from riding within 500 feet of a dwelling....Think about it!!!!! If Virginia passes it, I'm sure other states will follow....

I think its stupid! If they want to stop the ones that are doing wrong, like people who ride on roads or damage crops or property, than make it a more harder punishment on them.

Thats just out right rediculus! I thought when you own land, you have the right to do as you will on it. But i guess not now. Does anyone know if this is becuase of a "sound polution" law or something like tht from where it stems from, or is this a you cant ride anything no matter what thing?

If it is a sound polution thing, there will be a lot of lawn mowers for sale in Virginia....:D
Little Johnny can't have that little Briggs & Stratton Go-Cart he always wanted either....
"D. The provisions of this section shall not apply to vehicles while being used for agricultural or silvicultural purposes." What the hell is the difference?

sounds like if they pass it, they will use "selective enforcement" to judicate the law.

so you and your buddies are riding and a neighbor complains every time, with this law they can use the law alone to keep you from doing what you want to do leaglly on your own property:ermm:

I can see noise, dust or other issues causing a neighbor to complain, but having this law on the books will serve no good for the majority IMO. I am sure there are already laws that cover nuisances so why is a new one needed.

I hope everyone is writing their Representative letting them know how they feel. Don't think this bill can't pass. In Carroll County Maryland a bill was passed restricting atv's and motorcycles from riding within 300 feet of their property line. - 300 feet is a football field, you'd have to have alot of land to stay 300 feet from the edge of your property.

Even after moving from Baltimore County Maryland to the mountains of Pennsylvania to open an off road park I encountered neighbors and politicians fighting the park. Nine months after I opened the Proving Grounds it was shut down by angry neighbors. Although I was able to gain support and re-open the park - It took 2 1/2 years to get it back open. Everyone needs to step up and protect their right to ride.
