Got my 400ex A-amrs coming in this week, got some stock Z400 shocks that have little time on them from a buddy of mine. what else do I need to do.

1. Will the stock break linies be long enough (if not buddy who gave me the shocks has his stock Z lines, might work?

2. Need to cut and lengthen the steering rods, I'll cut them in half slip tube them and weld them up.

Anything else?

You can just use 400ex tie rods as well.

I beleive the stock brake lines work fine. You're only moving it out 3/4" on each side. And there's certianly at least that much slack on the stock lines on stock arms.

What he said ^

Also if the z400 shocks are rebuildable you may want to consider having it done to get the most out of the setup.

the shocks are the non rezzie 04 Z400 shocks, just like the 400ex's, don't think they can be rebuilt. Maybe when I redo the KFX front end I'll trnasfer those shocks over, they are the 05 better shocks.

you just need the shock bracket, i would pick up a pair of 400 tie-rods, it will be cleaner looking, more durable, and safer too, if something happens and your tie-rod breaks, your gonna be in for a wild ride. and by buying rods made for those a-arms you wont have to worry about each side being a little bit off from custom welding

Yeah the older shocks aren't rebuildable. It will still be an improvement over stock with them but just not an ideal setup. The newer ones if rebuilt should make for a nice setup though.
