thoughts on 300ex head pipe

Was thinking or wondering about the ability to put a 400 head pipe on my 300ex. Wondering if the shape/design would flow adequetely to mount to the head and muffler.

Minor modification can be done, i.e. cutting flange and changing angle etc... I'm thinking that if I can get a used 400 head pipe for 20-30 bucks and mount it up to a slip on or even the old stock muffler that might give some power gains. And if not, I throw it out and put the stocker back on or buy a aftermarket.

Won't work.
1st problem is the 400ex is a 2 into 1 header, whearas a 300ex has a single header coming out of the head.

Simply not worth the effort.

guess that throws a wrench in that plan, maybe a raptor 350, Z400 (knew I shouldv'e keep that stock head pipe). Just trying to explore other avenue's. I like to try different things.

I don't know. I'm thinking I might pick up a used z400 head pipe (if I can get one for under 20 bucks) and mod it to fit, see what happens.

The thing is I just need a pipe with material to slice up and I can weld it back up to fit.

Go for it.I butchered a yz400 pipe to fit a 300ex a while back.i didnt like how it ended up sticking out,but it worked.Plus its something to do:D
