hello, i'm new to this forum. if this is in the wrong place feel free to move it.

well, i finally got my dad to agree to let me buy an atv, but i have to save up and pay for it. I know this is an opinionated question so i know i probly will get some opinionated answers, but what will be a good atv for me? I love to go fast so top speed is a factor. I will be riding lots of trails, old logging roads, and power lines. i also might try to do some of the amature motorcross and cross country races near by. I would like something at least 400 class that can be found realetivly easily for under of around $3, 500-3,700.

what do you think?

get a 400ex to start out with.. there reliable and you can get them cheap. they also have excellent handling and good power.

The newer ones do have reverse, starting in 06 I think. The ex sounds like the perfect machine for you. I had an 01 and they are pretty much bulletproof. There's so many of them around you should be able to find a nice late model in that price range pretty easily. And aftermarket parts are fairly cheap and easy to find. Good luck and post some pics when you get it.

Which 450?

I would say, the good ol', super reliable 400ex.

I think you would like the power of a Z400 or a KFX 400. They are both just as reliable as a 400ex. There liquid cooled. IMO handle better in stock form. Adn they are faster
