I'm guessing the amount of travel, but how much more perfomance do you get out of them. Is it like comparing stock to + 3 a-arms.

Having long travel arms is the greatest thing since sliced bread. You can land smoother and corner like a pro with them. They help absorb the rough stuff while keeping your wheels on the ground. No comparision. If you are thinking of getting one or the other get the long travels. They are worth their weight in gold. Mo;)

you have to use 19in shocks that are very expenstive.

yah and you have to buy them at the same time also because I don't think you can use 16" shocks with long travel a-arms and thats quite a investment having 1000 in shocks and 700 or so in a-arms then you gotta get extended brake lines and if you do that you might as well get SS.

How can they call them long travels if they are only 16"????? The whole idea behind the long travel is the shock length. The longer a-arm only provides more stability and lowering of the bike. The shocks are the only actual reason to buy long travels. 16" long travels just doesnt make sense......

Nobody said they didnt believe you. I said that it doesnt make sense. And now that I looked at the site I see why they can do that. They made them have a little more fall out and call that a long travel a-arm. Its only longer by an extreme slight amount than the stock version or regular a-arm. I get it now. But I would hardly call it long travel.

If I had the Money I would get me some 19" Herrmann Long Travels and some Quad Rate Elka`s with Comp. and Rebound Adjust. How much would that setup Cost?

IS there that big of a difference in price or performance between the quad and triple rates I wonder??? Also, how are Hermann?? Good, bad....expensive??

I use the Long travel Herrmann a-arms and I weigh in around 265 and I race Quad A class. I race every weekend and practice through the week. I have yet to have any problems with them. AS far as expense. They are no where near as expensive as anyone else long travels. The elkas I know nothing about. I use TCS. From what I understand the Elka is a very fine product. Mo;)

quadrates are like 1100 dollars. They are sweet lokking. I would get the houser long travel instead of the herrmann. Look better made.

I think the Herrmann`s would be better then the Houser`s. I don`t think you could go wrong with either though.

Hey Warrior Man, most Pro GNCC riders RUN Dual-Rates.....cause every pic I see of a GNCC rider (Pro,or Pro-Production) are Running Dual-Rates,and a bunch of guys at my races say they had triple rate axis, and elka and so on,and they all went to Dual-Rate,and said it was a much better ride......\

Just my .10$

Yeah but that is mostly the Guys running Axis. If I got Elka`s they would have to be Triple or Quad Rate for the Long Travel. I think Jeff runs the Quad Rates. I don`t have the money to do that anyways, I would just like to though.

I don`t know, I just don`t think Elka makes Dual Rate Long Travel Shocks. Not real sure. We need Jeff`s help.

I dont believe they are long travels.....the pros that is. most ppl think that having the bent a-arms means long travel. But most of the time it doesnt. I honestly think they run the ragulars.
