I was told 250r shocks bolt up to a 400, is this true? I'm currently using a gt thunder link with stock swinger and shock and the shock has recently gone for the worse, so I was wondering if I could buy the one off my buddy and slap it in? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

well unless your shock is broken then you could have gt thunder re valve it for you

Well the thing is is my buddy and me share a storage and my rear the shaft cracked, but my buddy has a spare 250r rear axis that he said thinks fits but isn't sure. I wont be able to go to my storage til next weekend to work on it cause of work, but I figured if I knew ahead of time it would be helpful and save some time, thanks.

Just measure them both eye to eye and make sure they bolt in the frame and linkage nice and tight with no slop. From what I have seen 400ex shocks are roughly 15 1/2 to 15 3/4 inches eye to eye, and 250r shocks are roughly 16 1/2 inches eye to eye. So it might work, but it might be a little stiffer. I think it will fit, just the length might be an issue. Just try it, and then you will be able to tell us how it feels.

Length should be fine using the aftermarket linkage.
