Here's the Red you did my Rings in last Winter. Whatever you think is closet to Honda Red.

That list seems so long. lol. I know you've said the Molycoat and Polish are fairly easy to do though.

I am pretty sure it came yesterday Dave

Dave400ex
01-25-2007, 09:28 AM
Pappy UPS shows it did show up yesterday. I'm glad the parts are now in your hands!

I'm going to tear my front end apart this weekend and get the spindles and some more stuff sent for Moly and Polish, and front springs for PC.

Any idea on the current wait time? I'm in no hurry, I don't need it together until the first week of March. I'd rather everything be done right then rush ya.

Pappy
01-25-2007, 02:48 PM
I am off tomorrow and plan on working through the weekend, although tonight I aint doing a got dang thing:p I will do my best to work through your parts as fast as I can as always:p

Dave400ex
01-26-2007, 09:35 AM
Don't worry about going super fast, I'm not in a huge hurry. No rushing you here, I'd rather you take your time so everything is perfect. :)

I'm excited to see it all finished in the next month though!

Pappy

I asked a few friends that own body shops and they say thier customers expect cars painted in a day also so I geuss it goes with the type of work:p I dont know if some of these folks realise its just basically me doing the work:D the wife has really stepped up and is getting super involved even in the shop, cody is becoming proficient at some things involved with prep so its helping.

You hate to tell folks no, your to busy, but I also refuse to tell them a day or two unless I feel I can do it in that time etc. Youve been around here enough to know the deal so no worries there. We are looking at expanding, but only so big. I want to remain specialized.

Dave400ex
01-27-2007, 08:55 AM
I think the reason everyone wants their stuff done so fast is because they are just excited to see it finished.

As far as colors all of mine should stay the same, I just want the molycoat glossed up as much as possible!

Also I forgot to mention, I left a lot of the nuts/bolts together to help minimize all kinds of parts. Hopefully that isn't a big deal when you go to molycoat or polish them. I did that once on nuts/bolts I had nickel plated and they left them together and you could see right where the nut was on the threads, no plating. lol

Powdercoat
(2) Main Elka Springs – Red
(2) SSD Elka Springs – Gloss Black

I put the 2nd and 3rd springs in Zip-lock bags to keep them separate because they seem to be the same size, but I have no idea if they are the same spring rate. If you can please keep those two separate from each other so they don’t get mixed up.

UPS shows the rest of my parts showed up Wednesday so you should now have everything.

If possible can you keep the bolts and stuff I sent in the 2nd box separate from the first so I don't have to figure out which ones are for the front/rear, etc? The springs and spindles don't matter, just the smaller stuff.

Pappy
02-02-2007, 04:54 PM
shouldnt be a problem.

those rings looked pretty good!

Dave400ex
02-02-2007, 05:06 PM
They did look good. I was impressed. I figured since I was getting other stuff done in the same Red I would send those so everything looked the same. I know the one rear ring I bent pretty good and hit it back with a hammer and you couldn't tell.

I sent a lot more then I had originally planned, but I just kept setting more and more aside when I was taking it apart. lol. Hopefully since most of my parts are brand new that will help ya out some.

Pappy
02-02-2007, 05:12 PM
yeah, being new will help alot:p

today hasnt quite gone as well as I would have liked it, my main man (My brother) fell and fractured his wrist and dislocated one of his fingers:ermm: He has the night off, but has to disassemble two quads tomorrow so i hope he rests well tonight:eek:

Dave400ex
02-02-2007, 05:24 PM
Sounds like tomorrow will be interesting. Hopefully he heals up quick. Disassembling a couple of quads sounds like fun, I wish I was closer. I don't have anything to do with mine until parts start coming back and I get some more ordered. That's fine with me because our temps have been in the single digits so I won't be in the garage. :eek2:

I read in a thread about you fishing out some bolts from the bottom of the blaster. Reminds me of my work. I have done that many times. I work at a place that makes medical instruments/implants in the polishing area and I have done a lot of blasting.

Pappy
02-02-2007, 05:28 PM
I have grown to detest blasting:p But its a step in the process.

I prepped all day long and managed to only get one batch done, but now I should be rolling as the night wears on. It snowed here but wasnt to cold. Last night was cold, I delivered a frame at 10:30pm and I was shiverin':p

Dave400ex
02-02-2007, 05:45 PM
As the night wears on, how late do ya work?

When you start going through my stuff just let me know a price and I'll get a MO sent or might just call. I tried adding up all the prices I asked you and guesstimated around $450. lol. I'm interested to see what it is.

Pappy
02-02-2007, 06:21 PM
it really depends. some nights i work around the clock, but mainly i try and shut down around 11pm

Dave400ex
02-09-2007, 02:12 PM

Dave400ex
02-15-2007, 03:17 PM
WOW! Parts look amazing. The springs are right, the 3rd springs were suppose to be red, so as long as those are the 3rd it's good. It goes red, black, red, black up front then. I like the front calipers, looks neat being two colors.

Well I think you have all the PC parts done, just all the smaller Moly and Polish is all that's left. I can't wait to get this thing together!

Your going to be looking good David! Nice work Pappy! To bad he's going to need more than that to be able to keep up with me:D

firefighterjosh
02-18-2007, 08:24 AM
NICE!!!! Now you need to get that darn thing together. The first race is almost here:p

Dave400ex
02-18-2007, 09:15 AM
We have a month until the first race, I can't wait.

Pappy do you have an idea when all the small parts will be completed? I know I sent a lot of small crap that involves prep so I'm just wondering...

Pappy
02-18-2007, 09:43 AM
all the polished parts can come out of the tumbler most antime, they look great

the moly work is all prepped, i just have to sit down and wire up all the bolts:eek2:

i will more then liekly shoot most of it this evening but i am waiting on some more moly to be delivered tomorrow for a few of the items. i would suspect that by the end of the week, you will be opening boxes!

Dave400ex
02-18-2007, 09:51 AM
Awesome! I can't wait. I did send a lot of bolts. I want no rust! :D

Pappy
02-18-2007, 10:00 AM
actually i was mistaken, most of your bolts were labeled to be polished(they are zinc coated so no worries) i meant to say washers! damn there is more washers to do then ive ever seen:p

i have a batch warming up now since its to cold to do much outside and there aint nuttin on tv for a sunday afetrnoon, might as well work:ermm:

Dave400ex
02-18-2007, 10:09 AM
Yeah I just looked at the lists, a lot of the bolts were polish, but I counted like 16 or so that were molycoat. lol. There is 11 in the rear with the 6 little chain guide holder bolts and rear linkage/shock bolts. But your right, I noticed there are a lot of washers, 16 just from my a-arms! :eek2:

Pappy
02-18-2007, 10:10 AM
Polish work is complete. there may be some residual compund that needs to be wiped off, but they are ready to be placed in service

Pappy
02-18-2007, 02:56 PM

Dave400ex
02-18-2007, 07:07 PM
Awesome. The polished stuff looks like a mess of a pile. How do you find all that stuff in the tumbler? lol. I'd loose something.

Dave400ex
02-22-2007, 12:20 PM
Did you get all the washers wired up? lol. Let me know when your done, I'll call most likely because I want to have everything back next week.

Pappy
02-22-2007, 01:22 PM

Dave400ex
03-07-2007, 08:50 PM
Yeah I have the axle at -2 now like my old one but with getting nerfs I will set it out at least one inch, which would still be -1 though. I'll mess with it when I get the nerfs.
