can i reslevee my cylinder thats been bored out to a 440? Will i need a new head to downsize?

What if i stayed with the 440 how do i get a new head and valves to match? Mine is wasted..

You can re-sleeve it. You just need an 89mm, 440 sleeve. Also Powroll sells an 89.5mm piston, so you could have the the cylinder bored instead. The stock head works fine on any bore. eBay has used and near new cylinder heads if needed.

my head has some damage though i dont think i can use it. How do i get one to match up

Any stock head should work, unless some years are different. I'm almost 100% sure all years are the same, but I would ask the dealer or have someone else on here tell you for certain.

i think your right. Mine just had a special copper ring pressed into it to help prevent blowing my head gasget again.

Yeah, I've heard of O-ringing the 400EX. It is suposed to help well. Now is this done to the head or jug? I've never actually seen it done. Also 12:1 and higher (I believe) need HD head studs.

it was done to the head. It seemed to work good. I didnt blow a gasket. Just burn a hole in my piston and the piece of metal must have bounced around in there and finally welded itself to the spark plug. Broke a valve clean off and bent another one.
