I've been messing with the bottom end for my project quad and have a few clutch/tranny questions. First of all it's supposed to be a 6-speed, but I can only get it to shift through 3 gears. It's just the bottom end. Will it shift through all of them when I get it going in the quad? The guy said it shifted through all of them fine the last time it was rode. Also there's the little geared shaft that goes in the middle of the clutch assembly. Is it supposed to be loose or does it fit tight on the clutches? It's the shift in this pic.

Lastly, what is the little mechanism that connects to the clutch cable called? I don't have it, so do I have to get one specifically for this motor or are they all basically the same and will interchange? Here's a pic of it.
