What would be wrong with puttin standard 300ex shocks in the front and the rear of the 125. My son can out jump his predator and I need something that will withstand the jumps but I don't think he will require the 900 dollar fox floats...what do you guys think?

give the fronts a try, the 300ex shocks are 13". the rear 300ex shock wont work as the typhoon is 10 3/4" ant the 300ex is over 14" long

I have not actually bought one yet. I had a few issues that I wanted to figure out before spending the cash.

So what rear shock would work back there?

Additionally what about the heel guards for the nerf bars...what can be done to make those better?

Lastly do you know what improvements are going to be made on the 07 versus the 06 like gusseting etc.?

Thanks

he front 300 shocks may be a little stiff but are worth trying, should be able to get a good deal off ebay. on the rear shock i am not sure what may work. the rear is 10 3/4" long, might try going to works shocks website. they list all quads and the front and rear shock length. that way you may find another quad that the shock will work off from. the mew ones have a beefed up subframe and the belly plate that ties the front and rear of the frame in together. i posted pics on the topic, what happened to all the hype. xtreme has a few new things coming out that i cant talk about right now. some should be at the dealer show at indy next month. i will be there in xtremes booth.

Thanks alot for the information. It is tough to get good information about minis. I am really down between a Drr 90 limited with water cooling and the Xtreme 125. Both of them have their +'s and -'s Drr is the price and the Xtreme is the shocks, and nerfs, and a couple of motor mods. I would really like to see a riders review of the 07 Drr but haven't thus far. I figure the 300ex shocks on the lightest setting should be OK for the front...but if I get within 500 the Drr looks to be a stronger offering.

Thoughts?

we are running a set of works shocks that were built for a 300ex.
they are 13" and valved for 110# w/dual rate springs.
in the rear a fox air!

this set-up works very well for us.

That is encouraging. What other types of things did you have to do to make the xtreme something you are satisfied with?

I'm running 13 3/4 in elkas up front and fox air in the rear. I'm very pleased with this set up.

We are running Elkas on front and a long travel 14" Elka on rear that we developed... it improves the rear travel from 5" to 8.5" and it also lowers the back end. We modified the rear swingarm to a new ratio and it works great.

I have a 70 with a 7 yr old that is 60 lbs with all his gear. He is not afraid to air it out. Do you think that the Elkas are the right shocks for him on the Mx track or will the Fox rear and the 300 ex be good. I think the ex shocks might be to stiff. What do you think. He hasn't had to many bottoming instances from the stock fronts yet, but the back shock is a absolute change. Thanks

We have used Elkas on several Typhoons for riders 60lbs., they work great! We have them sprung and valved for the riders weight and ability.
