I am wanting to build a 426ex. My 400ex is smoking bad and figure it is time for a rebuild. My question is what kind of piston do i need as in size, and who makes the best JE, Wiseco, etc. Also do i need to buy aftermarket head studs. I have heard of people also running different head gaskets like cometic. I am also putting in a HotCam stage 2 and a aftermarket timing chain. My 400 already has a White Bros E series full exhaust, TC racing engines rev box and a Edelbrock carb. Please give me some feedback on the motor, and do you think my quad will be fast with these mods. Cause the blaster i traded for it would eat this thing alive.

some places sale 426 kits that include the gaskets stage 2 cam and the piston you need. ive seen some wiseco 426 kits on ebay. i realy dont think you need aftermarket hd studs for a 426. ive seen some 426exs run with the 450s and im planing on maken mine a 426 and runing like a raped ape

stock bore is 85.00 mm bore and the 426 is 88.00 mm bore

not sure on brands but is all you really do need if your going with the 426 is the piston and sleeve and i think the gaskets oem gaskets would be the best with a 426 there is no need for hd studs with the carb and exhaust you already have that thing should fly i'd suggest some heavy duty clutch springs tho too

with the mods you alreddy have i think a port and polish would work relly good becouse if you have all that free flowing stuff like the carb and exhuast then the port and polish will make it flow even better and then that thing will fly and i suggest a 11.1 piston so you can still use 93 octane unless you wnat to run ras gas
oh and a lrger valve job would help to
