yup did that and is ws an awesome mod it cost me about 20 bucks terry from marcums had one and sold it to me then i needed to hook it up so i was going to order a oil filter replacment cover from jagg cuz theres had the hook up needed to install it easily so i went to order it form james lucky cuz they sell it ceabut lucky me they stopped selling it so called jag or one 60 BUCKS so then i asked my grandpa if he knew who make one cuz he use to your at gm and he said his freind that worked there could tap into the old filter cover and it would look better so he got it done VERY VERY nice looking and he also made it so the lines would hook up to the stock cooler so i hooked it up and he cme back and said those lines look awfull so he made me some trick stainless lines so yes you can if you got the right connections sorry for such a long thread

What would the advantages to an oil cooler be, and how would it hook up/where would it go on the bike ?...and mainly if it would work on a 300EX would it work on my 250X ???

Yes it would work on your 250x and it helps a whole lot because before i installed mine when i would hit top speed it would get so hot it would start to sputter untill i let off the throttle now none of that happens and as for hooking it up there are 2 ways and that is cutting the stock oil lines and run tubes from the stock lines to the oil cooler then another tube from the oil cooler to the part where you cut the stock oil lines or you can connext that line to where the stock oil lines enter the motor which would be on the head OR you could do it the way I did mine an that is get someone to tap your oil filter cover in 2 places and thats is where a little tube like thing is located on the outside of the cover then just run lines from there to the oil cooler i recomend ths idea because you can easily black it off when you dont want it on and you dont have to cut and lines which is risky and also it looks very kewl

Materials
Oil lines about 3/4inch
connectors that will fit the lines
A person that can tap your old cover

Hey cyipher then you put it on this thread. That is, if you can.

heres what i got.

service honda sells oil filter cover for 300ex's for 38 dollars
summit racing has an oil cooler made by flexilite for 34 dollars

so i figure about 90 dollars for everything ie. hoses, mounts fittings.

so thats still less than jagg sells them for.

Ps. look for my steering dampener project to be done in a week.

steering dampener project consists of
a bug steerng dampener 70's year 19.99 from fribercraft racing and a hunk of 2x2x8 aircraft grade aluminum 14.00 from reno salvage

If i have any left over aluminum i will actualy make the oil filter cover but i dont know yet.
