exhaust question

I just baught a 400ex that has a white brothers E series full exhaust. The silencer is beat up pretty good, some of the screws are broken and rivets getting loose. What can I replace it with? Does it have to be the same silencer to hook up to the front pipe or will others work? Also would like to get the bike a little quieter as the wife isn't to pleased with it right now:devil:

If it's a factory pipe then you can go with any slip on. If not look at another header and silencer or just another White Bros.

How can I tell for sure if its a stock pipe? What diameter is the stock pipe?

I think if you still have the factory heat shield on it is safe to say it's factory. Most likely you have a factory headpipe. Post a pic and I will be able to tell.

I will try and get a pick in the daylight. There is no heat shields. The outlet where the silencer connects is 1 3/4" if that helps. I was told it was a full white brother's system.

Then you will have to order another silencer for a White bros. Head pipe.
