i had a yfz head shaved because of a bad water jacket.....they removed .009 off the head and my Q is what compression is this engine now.....it has a 12.5 piston in it

so......009 removed on a 12.5 piston

i [read] that .009 is the same as one layer of the head gasket.

so are you saying that you basically go the head decked on your bike? I always wondered if that was possible. Moving the valve train closer to the head will bump the compression because the vavle train is closer, and the combustion chamber is smaller. Think you could even take more or something? I've always wondered.

i had my head decked on my 04 by a local performace shop that deals with drag bikes and race quads. with my 13to1 wisco in there i was pushing 14.7 to 1 conpression..that thing made so ungodly touqe but i couldnt keep a head gasket in it
