Break in period??

Whats the best way to break in a 4stroke?? Just installed a JE 10.8:1 416 piston,Hot-Cam2,& HD cam chain. Will be taken her out for the first ride this weekend

you want to modulate the throttle a lot

dont hold the motor at one rpm. I would also not recommend going WOT untill you have a few hours on it

Follow the break in instructions for the cam. Once the cam is broken in then ride at a moderate pace for the rest of the gas tank. Be sure to change your oil after the cam break in too. I installed a piston and a cam at the same time too and when i changed my oil I could see timy metal chips.

Run the $hit out of it, mold the metals and it will run better in the long run.

My procedure is wide open all the time, and i've never had a bike blow, smoke, or run bad.

Set your valves, and change the oil after every 2 rides for the first few weeks and you will be in good shape.
