88-89 TRX 250 Wiring wanted

i have a pile of stuff coming from e-bay. i believe 89 is different than all other years on stator . check into it.

I don't have one for sale, but as far as wire harnesses go, 88 and 89 are not interchangeable without cutting and splicing. Different stators and connectors. 89 harness is much thicker. Different CDI's too. Just something to keep in mind when buying so you get the right one.

as for the 88-89 cdi boxes ...they are different than the 86-87 2 plug trx and the 86 2 plug atc boxes. the 88-89are usable in all 2 plug 250r boxes and have an advanced timing map. i prefer them. thats what i have on my 86 now. hope this helped:D

Well the bike is an 88, but I dont have a motor yet, Im pretty fluent with the differences of the years however not in the wiring department. I would like a complete set up. So what your telling me is a 88-89 harness wont plug into a 86-87 motor (stator)?
