One of my wifes co-workers got the bug when camping with us and picked up a 300ex that has a twist throttle and wants to convert over to a thumb throttle. What parts do I need, are the cables the same? Or do I need the cable and throttle assembly? I haven't touched the quad yet or have anything to compare it to (exceopt mine and I don't wan tot take 2 bikes apart)

But I do have some work to do to it, its got a Vance Hines pipe thats welded on to the end of the header, air lid still on and idles warms up a little rough so it needs jetting tuning etc....

Most often you'll need both the cable and throttle assembly.

I'll add a suggestion.

Get a 300ex cable and a TRX90 Thumb throttle.

More leverage on the thumb throttle, easier to use and less fatigue.

Different cables. At least for my 400ex. Had a motionpro twist and went back to thumb and the cable at the throttle assemble had a little ball at the end instead of a cylinder type thing. Had to get the hole cable. rockymountain was the cheapest.

We are going through the same process. We bought a new cable. My daughter hates using the twist throttle. So the thumb throttle is the only choice for us.
