try putting some 1104 hi temp gasket maker on either side of the head gasket before putting the new one on

You think that would do it...? Its not the valve cover gasket its the gasket between the head and cylinder..Is there any type of special high comp. gaksets out there?

it's more of a band aide than a fix, but it seems to do OK, ive done it on my hi-comp blaster. not b/c of issues, but more as extra insurance, and it seemed to work. any hi-temp silicone should work

Is the surface of your head and cyl. perfectly flat? Have you ever overheated the motor?

The next time you put it together, do a "leak down test" on it, and that will tell you if and where you have a problem. Bad seal, cracked head or cyl etc.
I've used cometic and Yamaha gaskets (without any special sealer), and the only time I blew a head gasket was when I shortcutted the Factory Yamaha method of torquing the head down. Now I do it exactly like the book says.
