Does the sparks +6 advanced timing key do what everyone says it does. It seems like such a easy upgrade that everyone would have one.

I'd like an answer to this too.... AND what its spozed to do.

the advanced timing key gives better throttle response and pull hard off the bottom worth the money as long as you aren't useing it in a 426 or a 440 they create too much heat for the bigger bores.

i have the +6 key and i love it. awesome throttle response and pulls HARD low end. i had a 14t front sprocket and it pulls hard just like that but now i went back to stock gearing and its awesome. worth the 20 bucks cant go wrong

Might be a dumb question, I guess it shouldn't affect valve specs any. Seems like it woud be a mod a lot of 400EX owners would want for the price. Let's face it, I bet the majority of us EX owners spend most of our riding time between 1st - 3rd gears, ( hills, tight trails, ets.) where we'd really benefit from the low- mid range extra punch.

Yeah, they say don't use it in any then more then a mildly modded engine, no 440's,

I had one, and i liked it,
Doesn't change the valve spec's, just have to remember when timing the marks are going to be a little off.

yea i was thinking wouldnt top dead center be off because of the advanced timing. If so how do you know when TDC is when you have to adjust your valves or something

if your carefull, you can put something long down the spark plug hole, If your off a few degrees when doing the valves it's not going to affect it. just think though, 6 Degrees out of 360. that's pretty small about to the eye, although a big differance at 7,000 RPM

Its not so much the bore size as the compression. Higher compression is more heat, and the two combined are bad. The +6 key adds more heat, which is why they are not good together.
